Pumpkin spice marijuana latte option 1: with dairy

This first recipe is an adaptation from this recipe on High Times. Feel free to play with the number of spices you add to fit your own preference.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of infused cannabis milk (recipe below)
  • ¼ cup of hot espresso (depending on how strong you prefer)
  • 2 tbsp pure pumpkin puree (optional)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tbsp sugar

The first thing you’ll need to do to pull off this latte is to get your hands on some cannabis-infused milk. If you already have some, skip the next step. If you don’t, we’ll show you an easy way to make it.

Cannabis milk ingredients and supplies:

  • 1 1/4 cups of full-fat whole milk
  • 1/2 – 4 grams of cannabis ground fine (adjust amount based on preferred potency)
  • Cheesecloth or equivalent strainer
  • Stovetop
  • Double boiler or two saucepans to make one

Steps to make a small batch of cannabis infused milk:

  1. Boil milk over a double boiler. If you don’t have a double boiler, you can add water to a larger saucepan and bring it to a boil. Then, place another saucepan over the boiling water, ensuring the water does not touch the bottom of the pan.
  2. Reduce the heat slightly to bring to a simmer. You don’t want to scorch your cannabis, so reducing it from a rolling boil to a slow, gentle simmer is ideal. It should still be very hot, but not enough to scorch the buds.
  3. Slowly add in the finely ground cannabis, stirring continuously. Make sure the buds are fully covered by the milk and continue to stir every few minutes.
  4. Simmer for 45 minutes. Be sure to stay nearby and stir the mixture every few minutes. You don’t need to continuously stir, but it is important to regularly move everything around.
  5. Strain with a cheesecloth or equivalent strainer. Carefully remove the mixture from heat and strain well. Your milk should be a yellowish/green color. Feel free to squeeze the excess milk from the mixture, though this will add more chlorophyll to your milk.
  6. Allow to cool and enjoy.

Use as much cannabis as you see fit for this recipe. If you don’t want it to be very strong, use much less than is listed. This only makes about one cup (recipe is adjusted to allow for some loss), so keep in mind that if you infuse a lot of cannabis in such a small amount, it will certainly be potent and filled with cannabis flavor.

Worried about how potent you’re cannabis milk will be? High Times has a handy guide to calculating THC dosages for edibles.

Pumpkin spice marijuana latte steps:

Decide whether or not you want to include real pumpkin puree in your drink. Many people claim this is essential to the perfect pumpkin spice latte, whereas others choose to omit this ingredient and still enjoy the pumpkin spices. It’s up to you!

  • Mix the milk, pumpkin puree (optional) with the sugar, spices, and vanilla in a saucepan and place it on low-medium heat on the stovetop.
  • Stir frequently until the milk is hot. Do not allow the milk to boil.
  • Whisk vigorously to create foam in the mixture.
  • Pour the espresso into a mug and carefully pour the milk mixture on top.
  • OPTIONAL: Add whipped cream and an additional sprinkle of cinnamon on top.

Congratulations! You’ve made an infused pumpkin spice latte.

Pumpkin spice marijuana latte option 2: vegan

This recipe is very similar to the previous one but includes the addition of cannabis-infused coconut oil or your favorite tincture. You can swap out the milk for any of your favorite vegan milk options. You will need a blender for this recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of almond, soy, oat, or other vegan milk of choice
  • ¼ cup of hot espresso (depending on how strong you prefer)
  • 2 tbsp pure pumpkin puree (optional)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp cannabis-infused coconut oil (recipe here) OR 1-2 drops of cannabis tincture (See below for our favorite cannabis tinctures!)

Already have infused oil on hand? Then you can skip right ahead. Need to make some? We discussed how to make cannabis-infused coconut oil here. If you need to make some for the recipe, follow the guide and feel free to cut the recipe in half to suit your needs.

Alternatively, if you don’t want to make cannabis-infused coconut oil, you can opt to use a cannabis or CBD tincture. Just stop by one of our Washington dispensary locations and we can help you find the perfect one.

Vegan pumpkin spice marijuana latte steps:

Again, you’ll need to decide whether or not you want to include real pumpkin puree in your drink. It’s totally up to you.

  • Mix the milk, pumpkin puree (optional) with the sugar, spices, and vanilla in a saucepan and place it on low-medium heat on the stovetop.
  • Stir frequently until the milk is hot. Do not allow the milk to boil.
  • Add all ingredients to a blender, along with the espresso.
  • Blend until well mixed and serve.
  • OPTIONAL: Add whipped cream and an additional sprinkle of cinnamon on top.

Whether you use a tincture or infused coconut oil, blending the ingredients is important as both can be difficult to mix into a latte. Depending on the type of tincture you use, you may be able to get away with just stirring it in, but we definitely recommend using a blender if you can. This is especially important if you’re using cannabis coconut oil.

Fun variations on the infused pumpkin spice latte

We’re pretty confident you’ll fall in love with these weed-infused pumpkin spice latte recipes. But if you’re ready to pumpkin spice things up a little more, try an iced or blended latte.

It’s super easy to do. For an iced latte, we still recommend heating everything first to properly blend all of the ingredients. From there, you can set it aside and allow it to cool off for 10-15 minutes. Then, add a generous amount of ice to a tall glass and pour your mixture on top.

Or you can make a blended pumpkin spice latte in the style of a frappe. Since you’ll be blending everything in the blender, you don’t need to heat this one up first. Just throw all of your ingredients into a blender along with a generous amount of ice cubes. Blend it up until you’ve reached your preferred consistency and enjoy.
